Moody’s raises Empresa Electrica to Ba1

Moody's Investors Service said it upgraded the corporate family rating and senior unsecured rating of Empresa Electrica de Guatemala SA to Ba1 from Ba2.

The outlook is stable.

Moody’s said the upgrade to Ba1, the same as the Guatemalan sovereign rating, largely reflects Moody's expectation that Empresa Electrica’s credit metrics will remain robust for the Ba-rating category; Specifically, that its three-year average CFO pre W/C to debt, interest coverage, and retained cash flow to debt will exceed 20%, 4 times, and 10%, respectively.
