Moody's: Empresa Electrica positive

Moody's Investors Service said it affirmed the Ba3 corporate family rating and senior unsecured rating of Empresa Electrica de Guatemala SA and changed the outlook to positive from stable.

Moody's said the action is underpinned by Empresa Electrica's ability to generate robust cash flows and record solid credit metrics despite the reduction of the Value Added Distribution-tariffs in August 2008 and the substantial increase in financial leverage of around $125 million earlier this year.
