Argentina's Emdersa units pay off $75.49 million of debt

Pittsburgh, Sept. 15 - Empresa Distribuidora de Electricidad de Salta - Edesa - SA (Edesa), Empresa Distribuidora San Luis Sociedad Anonima (Edesal) and Empresa Distribuidora de Electricidad de la Rioja Sociedad Anonima (Edelar) prepaid all of their default debt that was guaranteed by parent company Empresa Distribuidora Electrica Regional SA (Emdersa), according to a Friday news release.

The total debt cancelled by Edesa was $42.17 million, Edesal cancelled $27.58 million and Edelar cancelled $5.74 million.

The debt was prepaid with proceeds from the issue of $90 million in notes that were issued in August.

All the companies are Argentinean utility companies.
