Alere plans to price $450 million 5.5-year senior notes on Wednesday

Portland, Ore., Nov. 27 - Alere, Inc. plans to price a $450 million issue of senior notes due July 1, 2018 on Wednesday, according to a syndicate source.

Jefferies & Co., Goldman Sachs & Co. and Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC are the joint bookrunners. DNB, RBC Capital Markets and SunTrust Robinson Humphrey Inc. are the co-managers.

The Rule 144A and Regulation S with registration rights notes come with three years of call protection.

Proceeds will be used to fund the tender offer for the company's 7 7/8% senior notes, to repay revolver debt and for general corporate purposes.

Alere is a Waltham, Mass.-based health-care management, monitoring and patient diagnosis services provider.
