S&P lifts Eksportfinans view to positive

Standard & Poor's said it revised the outlook on Eksportfinans ASA to positive from negative.

The agency also said it affirmed the company's BB+ long-term and B short-term counterparty credit ratings.

S&P also affirmed the BB- rating on its subordinated debt instrument.

The outlook revision reflects an opinion of diminished risks for Eksportfinans, the agency said.

Following the decisive ruling by the Tokyo District Court in March, S&P said it sees reduced downside legal risks for Eksportfinans.

This ruling removed a significant event risk and significantly reduced the potential for an acceleration of liabilities that were previously factored into the assessment of the company's risk position, the agency said.
