EGA to offer two new ETFs focusing on international investments

By Toni Weeks

San Diego, March 30 - EGA Emerging Global Shares Trust said in an N-1A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission that it is planning two new funds that will trade on the NYSE Arca.

The EGShares Beyond BRICs ETF will trade under the symbol "BBRC," and the EGShares Emerging Markets Domestic Demand ETF will trade under the symbol "EMDD."

The EGShares Beyond BRICs ETF will seek investment results that correspond, before fees and expenses, to the price and yield performance of the INDXX Beyond BRICs Index. The fund will seek to replicate the portfolio of the index through investments in equity securities, including common shares, American Depositary Receipts and Global Depositary Receipts. Under normal conditions, the fund will invest at least 80% of its net assets in companies included in the index, with up to 95% probable.

The EGShares Emerging Markets Domestic Demand ETF will seek investment results that correspond, before fees and expenses, to the price and yield performance of the INDXX Emerging Markets Domestic Demand Index. The fund will attempt to replicate the portfolio of the index through investments in equity securities, including common shares, ADRs and GDRs. Under normal conditions, the fund will invest at least 80% of its net assets in companies included in the index, with up to 95% probable.

Based on the number of Indian securities included in the index, the fund may invest a portion of its assets in a wholly owned subsidiary in Mauritius, which, in turn, invests at least 90% of its assets in Indian securities, as well as in ADRs and GDRs, to some extent.

Richard C. Kang will be the lead portfolio manager for both ETFs.

Management fees will be 0.85%. Including other expenses, and taking into account a fee waiver agreement with the adviser, total annual fund operating expenses are expected at 0.85%. The agreement expires in one year.

Ridgewood, N.J.-based Emerging Global Advisors, LLC will be the investment adviser to the funds.
