Madison, Wis., Aug. 28 - Ecopetrol SA said it issued a total of COP 900 billion of series C inflation-linked bonds under its COP 3 trillion domestic debt securities and commercial paper program announced earlier this month.
The company announced on Tuesday that it priced COP 600 billion of the series C bonds and that the offering includes an over-allotment option for up to COP 300 billion additional bonds.
The bonds were issued in four subseries: subseries C5 with a maturity of five years, subseries C10 with a maturity of 10 years, subseries C15 with a maturity of 15 years and subseries C30 with a maturity of 30 years.
The amounts and coupons for the subseries are as follows:
• COP 120.95 billion of C5 bonds with a coupon of CPI plus 379 basis points;
• COP 168.6 billion of C10 bonds with a coupon of CPI plus 460 bps;
• COP 347.5 billion of C15 bonds with a coupon of CPI plus 490 bps; and
• COP 262.95 billion of C30 bonds with a coupon of CPI plus 515 bps.
This is Ecopetrol's first tranche of bonds under the debt program and its first local public bond issuance in Colombia, as noted before.
Proceeds will be used to finance the Bogota, Colombia-based petroleum company's investment plan.
