Eagle Hospitality possible acquisition target for board chairman, Corporex head William Butler

Charlotte, N.C., Feb. 13 - Eagle Hospitality Properties Trust, Inc. shareholder and Corporex Cos. LLC chief executive officer William P. Butler said his company has retained Goldman, Sachs & Co. to advise it on a possible strategic partnership with Eagle.

Butler, who also serves as chairman of Eagle's board, is the beneficial owner of 4,228,957 shares of Eagle common stock, or 17.6% of the common stock outstanding, according to a schedule 13D filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

On Jan. 29, Eagle announced it would explore strategic alternatives, including a possible sale of the company.

Eagle is a real estate investment trust located in Covington, Ky.
