Chicago, Sept. 9 – Duke Energy Corp. is in the market with an offering of notes in two series, according to a 424B5 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The Charlotte, N.C.-based energy company plans to offer new senior notes due 2025 and an add-on tranche of 2.45% senior notes due 2030.

The add-on notes will form part of the same series as the $500 million of 2.45% notes issued on May 15.

Both series have a make-whole call and a par call.

Joint bookrunners for the offering are Barclays, BofA Securities Inc., Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC, J.P. Morgan Securities LLC, Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC, RBC Capital Markets Corp. and Truist Securities, Inc.

Proceeds will be used to repay a portion of the company’s commercial paper, to repay a portion of the outstanding $1.69 billion term loan due March 2021 and for general corporate purposes.
