Duke Energy preparing to sell senior notes due 2030

Knoxville, Tenn., May 13 – Duke Energy Corp. intends to sell senior notes due 2030, according to a 424B5 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes have a make-whole call feature until March 1, 2030 and then are callable at par.

The bookrunners are J.P. Morgan Securities LLC, Scotia Capital (USA) Inc., SunTrust Robinson Humphrey Inc., TD Securities (USA) LLC and Wells Fargo Securities LLC.

Proceeds will be used to repay some of the borrowings under the company’s three-year revolving credit facility and for general corporate purposes.

The energy company is based in Charlotte, N.C.
