Alaska Industrial Development announces intention to refund 1998 bonds

By Sheri Kasprzak

New York, May 5 – The Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority said it is considering a refunding offering for bonds issued on behalf of the Snettisham Hydroelectric Project.

The proposed deal will refund the project’s series 1998 bonds, of which there is about $69,955,000 principal outstanding. Interest rates on the refunded bonds range from 5% to 5.5%.

The proposed deal will be about $64 million in size and pricing is tentatively slated for the week of June 8.

Pricing of the deal is contingent upon market and other factors.
