Fitch rates Donetsk B

Fitch Ratings said it assigned B long-term foreign- and local-currency ratings, a B short-term foreign-currency rating and an AA(ukr) national long-term rating to the Ukrainian Region of Donetsk.

The outlooks for the long-term ratings are stable.

The agency said the ratings on the Donetsk region reflect its strong economy, satisfactory budgetary performance and zero direct risk and contingent liabilities.

The ratings also factor in the strong reliance of the regional budget on central government decisions and the overall evolving institutional framework in the country, Fitch said.
