Delphi posts $115 million operating loss for January

Washington, Feb. 28 - Delphi Corp. posted a $115 million operating loss for January on $1.47 billion in net sales, according to its monthly operating report filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

For December, the company had an operating loss of $616 million on sales of $1.39 billion.

The company showed a net loss in January of $121 million versus a net loss for the December period of $1.13 billion.

Cash and cash equivalents at Jan. 31 were $1.29 billion, down from a Dec. 31 total of $1.36 billion.

Delphi, a Troy, Mich.-based automotive electronics manufacturer, filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 8. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-44481.
