Delphi shows operating loss of $616 million for December

Washington, Jan. 31 - Delphi Corp. posted a $616 million operating loss for December on $1.39 billion in net sales, according to its monthly operating report filed Friday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

From Oct. 8 to Nov. 30, the company had an operating loss of $131 million on sales of $2.94 million.

The company showed a net loss in December of $1.13 billion versus a net loss for the November period of $127 million.

Cash and cash equivalents at Dec. 31 were $1.36 billion, up from a Nov. 30 total of $956 million.

Delphi, a Troy, Mich.-based automotive electronics manufacturer, filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 8. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-44481.
