Delphi reports $673 million September operating loss

Pittsburgh, Oct. 31 - Delphi Corp. reported a $673 million operating loss for September on net sales of $1.373 billion, according to its monthly operating report filed Tuesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

In August, the company posted a $508 million operating loss on net sales of $1.6 billion.

The net loss for September was also $673 million, up from a $533 million August net loss.

Cash and cash equivalents on Sept. 30 were $411 million, compared with $855 million at the end of August.

Delphi, a Troy, Mich.-based automotive electronics manufacturer, filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 8, 2005. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-44481.
