Delphi posts $508 million August operating loss

Eugene, Ore., Sept. 29 - Delphi Corp. reported a $508 million operating loss for August on net sales of $1.6 billion, according to its monthly operating report filed Friday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

In July, the company posted a $505 million operating loss on $894 million in net sales.

The net loss for August was $533 million, compared to a $534 million net loss for July.

Cash and cash equivalents on Aug. 31 were $855 million, down from $933 million the month before.

Delphi, a Troy, Mich.-based automotive electronics manufacturer, filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 8, 2005 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-44481.
