Delphi posts $237 million December operating loss

Pittsburgh, Feb. 1 - Delphi Corp. reported a $237 million operating loss for December on $606 million in total net sales, according to its monthly operating report filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The figures showed a decline over a $233 million November net loss on $1.145 billion in total net sales.
The net loss for December was $964 million, widening from a $231 million November net loss.
Cash and cash equivalents on Dec. 31 were $113 million, compared with $13 million at the end of November.
Delphi, a Troy, Mich.-based automotive electronics manufacturer, filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 8, 2005 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-44481.
