Delphi wraps $40 million sale of brake component machining, module assembly assets

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Jan. 2 - Delphi Corp. has completed the $40 million sale of a portion of its North American brake component machining and module assembly assets to TRW Integrated Chassis Systems, LLC, according to a TRW Automotive Holdings Corp. news release.

TRW Automotive is the parent company of TRW Integrated Chassis Systems.

In addition to the asset purchase, TRW Integrated has leased a portion of Delphi's former brake manufacturing facility in Saginaw, Mich., according to the release.

TRW said it is supplying General Motors with braking modules that were formerly supplied by Delphi at the Saginaw plant.

Delphi, a Troy, Mich.-based automotive electronics manufacturer, filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 8, 2005 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-44481.
