Delphi reports $94 million August operating loss

Portland, Ore., Sept. 28 - Delphi Corp. reported a $94 million August operating loss on net sales of $1.524 billion, according to its monthly operating report filed Friday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The numbers compare to a $187 million operating loss on net sales of $1.012 billion for July.

The net loss for August was $100 million, an improvement over a $169 million July net loss.

Cash and cash equivalents at Aug. 31 were $20 million, compared with $30 million at July 31.

Delphi, a Troy, Mich.-based automotive electronics manufacturer, filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 8, 2005 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-44481.
