Delphi July operating loss improves to $187 million

Pittsburgh, Aug. 31 - Delphi Corp. reported a $187 million operating loss for July on net sales of $1.012 billion, according to its monthly operating report filed Friday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The figures compared to a $322 million operating loss for June on net sales of $1.414 billion.

The net loss for July was $169 million, an improvement over a $330 million June net loss.

Cash and cash equivalents on July 31 were $30 million, compared with $26 million at the end of June.

Delphi, a Troy, Mich.-based automotive electronics manufacturer, filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 8, 2005 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-44481.
