Delphi May operating loss improves to $68 million

Pittsburgh, June 29 - Delphi Corp. reported a $68 million operating loss for May on net sales of $1.466 billion, according to its monthly operating report filed Friday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The figures showed improvement over a $102 million April operating loss on net sales of $1.322 billion.

The net loss for May was $45 million, narrowing from a $66 million April net loss.

Cash and cash equivalents on May 31 were $33 million, compared with $25 million at the end of April.

Delphi, a Troy, Mich.-based automotive electronics manufacturer, filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 8, 2005 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-44481.
