Delphi posts $358 million December operating loss

Pittsburgh, Jan. 31 - Delphi Corp. reported a $358 million operating loss for December on net sales of $1.104 billion, according to its monthly operating report filed Wednesday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York.

The figures show a decline from a $190 million November operating loss on net sales of $1.327 billion.

The net loss for December was $461 million, down from a $226 million November net loss.

Cash and cash equivalents on Dec. 31 were $395 million.

Delphi, a Troy, Mich.-based automotive electronics manufacturer, filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 8, 2005. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-44481.
