Delphi October operating loss improves to $60 million

Pittsburgh, Nov. 30 - Delphi Corp. reported a $60 million operating loss for October on net sales of $1.344 billion, according to its monthly operating report filed Friday with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The figures showed improvement over a $418 million September operating loss on net sales of $1.145 billion.

The net loss for October was $28 million, narrowing significantly from a $794 million September net loss.

The company reported no cash and cash equivalents as of Oct. 31, compared with $107 million at the end of September.

Delphi, a Troy, Mich.-based automotive electronics manufacturer, filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 8, 2005 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-44481.
