By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Aug. 17 - Delphi Corp.'s Section 1113/1114 hearing on rejection of its collective bargaining agreements was continued until Sept. 18 to allow parties to make progress in ongoing discussions, according to a company news release.

According to the release, the continuance was granted following a chambers conference held Thursday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York and meetings between Delphi, its major unions, General Motors Corp. and statutory committees.

Delphi, a Troy, Mich.-based automotive electronics manufacturer, filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 8, 2005. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-44481.
