Delphi asks to put off CBA rejection hearing to Aug. 17 to continue transformation plan discussions

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Aug. 11 - Delphi Corp. requested a short-term extension of its hearing to reject its collective bargaining agreements to Thursday to continue discussions with its unions, General Motors Corp., its statutory committees and major stakeholders regarding the company's transformation plan, according to a company news release.

The contested hearing on the Section 1113 and 1114 rejection motion was previously scheduled to resume on Aug. 11.

According to the release, the extension request was made following a chambers conference in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York and meetings between Delphi and its major stakeholders held over the last several days.

Delphi, a Troy, Mich.-based automotive electronics manufacturer, filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 8, 2005. Its Chapter 11 case number is 05-44481.
