AIS TAAP Fund to invest in investment-grade bonds, gold ETFs, cash

By Toni Weeks

San Diego, Feb. 2 - The Northern Lights Fund Trust II announced plans for a new fund, the AIS TAAP Fund, according to an N-1A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The fund will launch with class A, class C, class I and class N shares. The ticker symbols have not yet been set.

The fund's investment objective is to obtain conservative long-term growth of capital and preservation of purchasing power by investing in four asset classes: equities, U.S. government securities, gold and cash and cash equivalents.

The fund may invest up to 80% of its assets in domestic or foreign equity securities or U.S. government securities and up to 100% in cash equivalents. With respect to equity securities, the fund will invest in any size company but only in investment-grade bonds. In addition, the fund will invest up to 25% of its total assets in a wholly owned and controlled subsidiary providing exposure to gold or in exchange-traded gold funds, which together can provide the fund with an up to 80% exposure to gold.

The advisor will manage the allocation of the fund's assets using an investment strategy called "The Asset Allocation Portfolio," or TAAP.

John R. Hummel and Bradley C. Stern will serve as the fund's portfolio managers.

Only the class A share class will incur a sales charge, which will be a maximum of 5.75%. All four share classes are subject to a 1% redemption fee for shares redeemed within 30 days of purchase.

Management fees will be 1% for each share class. Including distribution and service fees, other expenses, acquired fund fees and a fee waiver with the adviser, the total annual fund operating expenses will be held to 1.5%, 2.25%, 1.25% and 1.5% for class A, class C, class I and class N shares, respectively.

Wilton, Conn.-based AIS Capital Management LLC will serve as the investment adviser.
