Midwest Air Group allowing four companies to conduct due diligence

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Aug. 3 - Midwest Air Group, Inc. entered into confidentiality agreements with four interested parties following the company's recent decision to explore strategic alternatives.

The four parties can now conduct due diligence investigations in evaluating a possible transaction with Midwest Air, a company news release stated.

Midwest Air will not commit to further comments on the process.

AirTran Holdings, Inc., parent company of AirTran Airways, had been trying to engage Midwest in merger talks and has extended its tender offer for the company until Aug. 10.

Midwest is a Milwaukee-based provider of jet service to primarily business travelers.
