AGL files automatic shelf registration

Knoxville, Tenn., Aug. 21 - AGL Resources Inc., AGL Capital Corp. and AGL Capital Trust II jointly filed an automatic shelf registration in an S-3-ASR filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The registration covers debt securities, guarantee of debt securities, trust preferred securities, guarantee with respect to the trust preferred securities, junior subordinated debentures, guarantee with respect to the junior subordinated debentures, common stock, preferred stock, purchase contracts, guarantee of purchase contracts, warrants, guarantee of warrants, units and guarantee of units. Securities may be convertible.

Proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes.

AGL Resources is an Atlanta-based natural gas distributor.
