S&P affirms Agilent

Standard & Poor's said it affirmed its ratings, including the BBB- corporate credit rating, on Agilent Technologies Inc.

The outlook is stable.

"We expect the proposed acquisition of Varian Inc. to strengthen Agilent's position in the bio-analytical measurement market by increasing scale and broadening its product portfolio,' said credit analyst Susan Madison.

As such, the agency said it views this transaction as favorable to Agilent's overall business profile.
