S&P lifts Comcast

Standard & Poor's said it raised its corporate credit rating on Comcast Corp and its subsidiaries to BBB+ from BBB and removed all ratings from CreditWatch.

The agency also said it affirmed the A-2 short-term credit rating while raising the company's senior unsecured debt to BBB+ from BBB and subordinated debt to BBB from BBB-.

The upgrade is based on the agency's expectation that Comcast's solid operating momentum against tough satellite direct-to-home TV competition will continue and that the company will follow a moderate financial policy, maintaining debt to EBITDA under 3 times, S&P said.
