France’s AFD plans €500 million seven-year climate bonds at French treasuries plus 27 bps area

Chicago, Sept. 10 – Agence Francaise de Developpement plans to price €500 million of seven-year senior climate bonds with guidance unchanged at the French treasury rate plus 27 basis points area, according to a market source.

The books are above €550 million and opened on Monday.

BNP Paribas, Credit Agricole CIB, HSBC (bill and deliver), Natixis and Societe Generale CIB are the bookrunners.

Proceeds will be used to finance projects contributing to the mitigation of greenhouse gas emissions and adaptation to climate change under the climate bond framework of AFD.

The reference securities are the FRTR 0.5% of May 2025 and the FRTR 1% of November 2025.

The notes will be listed on the Euronext Paris.

The issuer provides development and financing assistance to developing countries.
