S&P rates Colgate notes AA-

S&P said it assigned its AA- issue-level rating to Colgate-Palmolive Co.'s proposed senior unsecured medium-term notes.

All of the other ratings on Colgate-Palmolive, including AA- corporate credit rating, are unchanged.

“Our ratings on Colgate-Palmolive reflect its solid position as the largest competitor in the global oral care segment, very high brand equity and awareness, diversified portfolio of consumer brands, and extensive international presence. The company's financial risk profile reflects its solid cash flow generating ability, strong credit measures, and historically conservative financial policies,” S&P said in a news release.
