Moody’s gives Aa3 to Colgate notes

Moody's Investors Service said it assigned Aa3 ratings to Colgate-Palmolive Co.'s upcoming offering of senior unsecured notes.

Colgate's existing ratings including the Aa3 senior unsecured ratings are unchanged.

The proceeds will be used for general corporate purposes including repayment of commercial paper. “The issuance is credit positive because it improves liquidity and extends the company's maturity profile,” Moody’s said in a press release.

The outlook is stable.
