S&P gives Colgate-Palmolive notes AA-

S&P said it gave an AA- issue-level rating to Colgate-Palmolive Co.'s planned senior unsecured notes with final amounts and maturities to be determined.

“All our existing ratings on Colgate-Palmolive, including our AA- issuer credit rating, are unchanged,” S&P said in a press release.

The company intends to use the proceeds for general corporate purposes, including the retirement of commercial paper. The company had about $8 billion of debt outstanding as of June 30.

The outlook is stable.
