Aflac to sell 10-year, 20-year senior notes in offering

Knoxville, Tenn., Sept. 14 – Aflac Inc. plans to offer 10-year and 20-year senior notes, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The notes will have a make-whole call and then will be callable at par.

Bookrunners are Goldman Sachs & Co., Mizuho Securities USA Inc., Morgan Stanley & Co. LLC, Wells Fargo Securities LLC, BofA Merrill Lynch, MUFG and SMBC Nikko.

The company plans to use the proceeds from the offering to fund the redemption at maturity of its $650 million of 2.65% senior notes due February 2017 and for general corporate purposes.

The company provides supplemental health and life insurance through its subsidiaries and is based in Columbus, Ga.
