Citigroup plans leveraged buffered notes linked to iShares MSCI EM ETF

Tacoma, Wash., Sept. 3 – Citigroup Inc. plans to price 0% market-linked securities with leveraged upside participation to a cap and fixed percentage buffered downside due April 2019 linked to the iShares MSCI Emerging Markets exchange-traded fund, according to a 424B2 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

If the ETF return is positive, the payout at maturity will be par plus 150% of the gain, subject to a maximum return that is expected to be 37% to 42% and will be set at pricing. Investors will receive par if the ETF decreases by up to 10% and will lose 1% for every 1% that the ETF declines beyond 10%.

Citigroup Global Markets Inc. is the lead agent with Wells Fargo Securities LLC as agent.

The notes are expected to price Sept. 30.

The Cusip number is 17298CEB0.
