Citi to invest $100 billion over 10 years in environmental solutions

By Lisa Kerner

Charlotte, N.C., Feb. 18 – Citigroup Inc. announced it is committed to lending, investing and facilitating a total of $100 billion within the next 10 years to finance activities that reduce the impacts of climate change and create beneficial environmental solutions.

Under the new initiative, the New York City-based global bank will identify opportunities to finance greenhouse gas reductions and resource efficiency in other sectors, such as sustainable transportation.

Citi’s previous goal of $50 million, announced in 2007, was met three years early in 2013, according to a news release.
