Circuit City Stores posts $3.6 million November operating loss

Pittsburgh, Jan. 15 - Circuit City Stores, Inc. reported a $3.6 million operating loss for November on zero net sales, according to its monthly operating report filed Friday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Virginia.

In comparison, the company posted a $2.35 million operating loss for October, also on zero net sales.

The net loss for November was $17.14 million, widening from a $125,000 October net loss.

Circuit City had $330.4 million in cash and cash equivalents at Nov. 30, down from $362.89 million at the end of October.

The Richmond, Va., electronics retailer filed for bankruptcy on Nov. 10, 2008. Its Chapter 11 case number is 08-35653.
