Prospect News reports eight new defaults for May 11-May 17

Olympia, Wash., May 19 – Prospect News reported eight new defaults for May 11 through May 17.
Specifically, Prospect News reported Chapter 11 filings made by Lifesize Inc., Cox Oil Offshore, LLC, Monitronics International Inc., Athenex, Inc., Envision Healthcare Corp., Vice Group Holding Inc., Kidde-Fenwal, Inc. and Venator Materials plc.
Prospect News also reported a missed interest payment on Yida China Holdings Ltd.’s 12% senior notes due April 30, 2025, and a reorganization by Brazil’s Light SA, but the companies had both defaulted previously.
So far in 2023, Prospect News has reported 99 defaults, including 71 Chapter 11 filings, nine missed interest payments, seven missed principal and interest payments, four CCAA filings, two Chapter 15 filings, and one each of judicial reorganizations, Chapter 7 filings, events of default, recapitalizations, liquidations, and missed interest payments paid within a grace period.
The issuers that filed Chapter 11 during the week reported at least $3.33 billion in assets and at least $10.06 billion in liabilities collectively.
