S&P boosts Waste Connections

Standard & Poor's said it raised its ratings, including its corporate credit rating to BBB- from BB+, on Waste Connections Inc.

The outlook is stable.

The upgrades recognize management's demonstrated commitment to moderate financial policies, as well as the company's improved operating performance and stronger credit measures, the agency said.

According to S&P, the ratings on Waste Connections reflect its satisfactory business position as a major regional solid waste management company, efficient operations, generally favorable industry characteristics and an intermediate financial profile.
