S&P rates Disney notes A
Standard & Poor's said it assigned an A rating to the Walt Disney Co.'s proposed issuance of debt securities.
The company plans to split the offering into three issues: three-year notes, five-year notes and 30-year debentures.
The company plans to use the net proceeds of the debt issuance for general corporate purposes, S&P said.
The A long-term corporate credit rating and A-1 short-term rating on Disney are unchanged.
The ratings reflect the company's strong business risk profile, incorporating its leading, wide-ranging creative franchises and distribution capability, solid market positions and broad diversity in its media and entertainment businesses, the agency said.
Disney is the preeminent company for monetizing intellectual property across a broad base of businesses, S&P said.
