S&P rates Disney notes A-

S&P said it assigned its A- rating the Walt Disney Co.’s proposed senior unsecured notes and placed the rating on CreditWatch with negative implications.

Disney plans to issue several series of fixed-rate notes and will use the proceeds for general corporate purposes, including to pay down its commercial paper borrowings and repay its upcoming term debt maturities.

“Our long-term issuer credit rating and issue-level ratings on Disney remain on CreditWatch, where we placed them with negative implications on April 16, 2020,” S&P said in a press release.
