Vestis Retail granted final approval to continue store-closing sales

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, May 16 – Vestis Retail Group, LLC received final court approval to continue store-closing sales, according to an order filed Monday with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

As previously reported, Vestis’ Sport Chalet stores began closing sales on April 16 at all of its locations, while Eastern Mountain Sports and Bob’s Stores began closings at a total of just nine locations, including eight Eastern Mountain Sports locations and one Bob’s Stores location, where real estate costs are unfavorable and have prevented the stores from achieving sufficient profitability.

The store-closing sales are being conducted by Hilco Merchant Resources, LLC and Gordon Brothers Retail Partners, LLC.

Meriden, Conn.-based Vestis was formed by Versa Capital Management, LLC and operates retailers Eastern Mountain Sports, Bob’s Stores and Sport Chalet. The company filed bankruptcy on April 18 under Chapter 11 case number 16-10971.
