Vicwest to emerge from bankruptcy on Sept. 12

Chicago, Sept. 9 - Vicwest Corp. said it will emerge from proceedings under the Companies' Creditors Arrangement Act, Canada's version of Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, on Sept. 12.

Vicwest obtained an order on May 12 to begin the restructuring under CCAA. Vicwest expects that its plan of compromise and reorganization, which was approved by the Ontario Superior Court of Justice on Aug. 14, will be implemented on Sept. 12, allowing it to emerge.

The Oakville, Ont.-based roofing manufacturer's senior subordinated notes, which are listed on the TSX Venture Exchange under the symbol MGT.DB, will cease trading on the day prior to implementation of the plan.
