Fitch rates Verizon green notes A-

Fitch Ratings said it gave an A- rating to Verizon Communications Inc.'s $1 billion of senior unsecured notes due 2041.

Verizon's long-term issuer default rating is A- with a stable outlook.

The proceeds will be used in the financing or refinancing, in whole or in part, of eligible green investments, including facilities that transmit or generate renewable energy, such as solar energy and wind energy.

In August, Verizon reported the final allocation of its second green bond, with $994 million of the net proceeds going toward renewable energy projects.
