S&P ups Verifone view to positive

Standard & Poor's said it affirmed its B+ corporate credit rating on Verifone, Inc. and revised its outlook to positive from stable.

The revision reflects good revenue growth and an improving financial profile, the agency said.

S&P also said it affirmed the company's senior secured bank debt rating at B+.

The ratings on Verifone reflect its modest size, a relatively short financial history as an independent entity and leveraged but improving financial profile, the agency added. These factors, though, are partially offset by the company's leading position in the niche market for electronic payment devices and a diversified customer base, S&P said.
