Moody's affirms Ventas

Moody's Investors Service said it affirmed its Ba3 senior unsecured debt rating of Ventas Realty LP, the operating partnership of Ventas Inc. The outlook is positive.

Moody's affirmed Ventas Realty LP's senior debt at Ba3, senior debt shelf at prospective Ba3, subordinated debt shelf at prospective B2, Ventas Inc.'s preferred shelf at prospective B2 and Ventas Capital Corp.'s senior debt shelf at prospective Ba3 and subordinated debt shelf at prospective B2.

According to Moody's, the rating affirmation reflects continued improvement in Ventas fixed-charge coverage, progress in diversifying its tenant base and the improvement in overall quality of the property portfolio displayed by healthy rent coverage.
