U.S. Concrete requests precautionary two-month exclusivity extension

By Caroline Salls

Pittsburgh, Aug. 27 - U.S. Concrete, Inc. requested an extension to its exclusive periods to file a plan of reorganization and to solicit votes on the plan, according to a Friday filing with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware.

The company wants to extend its exclusive filing period to Oct. 26 from Aug. 27 and the solicitation period to Dec. 27 from Oct. 26.

Since its plan was already confirmed in July, U.S. Concrete said it is requesting the extension "out of an abundance of caution" to protect its exclusivity and maintain flexibility in case an unforeseen event delays the plan effective date.

A hearing is scheduled for Sept. 15.

U.S. Concrete, a Houston-based cement manufacturer, filed for bankruptcy on April 29. Its Chapter 11 case number is 10-11407.
