Moody's: UnitedHealth notes A3

Moody's Investors Service said it affirmed UnitedHealth Group Inc.'s senior debt rating at A3 and the insurance financial strength rating of UnitedHealthcare Insurance Co. at A1 following the company's second quarter earnings release.

At the same time, Moody's assigned an A3 senior unsecured debt rating to UnitedHealth Group's $602 million issuance of senior notes.

The outlook is stable.

The notes are a re-opening of the company's March 2012 bond offering and were issued as part of a private exchange of $1.08 billion of its zero coupon unsecured notes due in November 2022.
