UBS Global Bond Fund announces plans to liquidate June 5

By Toni Weeks

San Luis Obispo, Calif., April 4 - The board of trustees of the UBS Funds approved on Feb. 28 the liquidation of the UBS Global Bond Fund, according to a 497 filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The liquidation will occur on June 5.

Effective April 5, each share class of the fund has been closed to new investments.

The board said that based upon information provided by the fund's investment adviser, New York-based UBS Global Asset Management (Americas) Inc., it is in the best interests of the fund and its shareholders to liquidate the fund.

The fund's investment objective is to maximize total return consisting of capital appreciation and current income by investing at least 65% of its net assets in investment-grade debt securities.
